CARBONIZED: Charcoal absorbs excess oils from our skin thanks to its porous, dry, powdery soft texture, leaving it feeling comfortably cleansed and impeccably balanced. All of our charcoal comes from a sustainable tree farm in British Columbia where workers plant two new saplings for every one tree that they cut down. By doing business this way we ensure that we're getting the highest quality product while creating as little environmental impact is necessary
PRESERVATION THROUGH PRESEVERANCE: Australian Sandalwood - like all of the sandalwood family - is considered to be an exquisite oil. Some thirty species of sandalwood occur throughout Asia, Australia and the Pacific region. Six of the species are native to Australia. One species, Santalum spicatum, is presently being harvested in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. The high value of the wood and the oil has led to a steady decline of native sandalwood trees and increasing efforts to establish plantations. We at the Sudsatorium continue to source all of our organic sandalwood oil from Down Under through ethical means including only buying from Australian government sponsored state auctions that limit the number of trees that are allowed to be be harvested every year and who also mandate harvesters plant new sandalwood saplings to replace every mature tree they cut down
ROOTS: Sweeter than sugar and with its own unique anise seedy flavour, the root of the common liquorice plant has been used since the time of the Ancient Greeks as an elixir of good health. Boiling the roots in water creates a powerful decoction that has been used to treat indigestion, sore throats and stomach ulcers. We use our fresh decoction as a topical in our Naughty soap for its antibacterial and moisturizing qualities, giving you a deeply cleansing wash that works to unblock pores, allowing your skin to breath properly once again
